What is concrete and its types
Concrete is a building material obtained by mixing cement with fine sand and coarse sand, as well as water in certain proportions. With this block of concrete, technological advances have led to the invention of new types of concrete that have many different uses.
What is concrete?
Concrete depends on a certain amount and certain proportions of components that are used in the mixture itself. The properties can be modified greatly based on the different types of cement that are used in the mixture. Concrete is very strong in resistance to compression or compression, but it is very weak in tensile resistance. Any shape or mold is suitable to obtain the desired shape. Concrete is widely used in all types of construction works, including bridges, dams, buildings, and also in many different industries and construction works.
Concrete installation
1 - We need bonding materials, including cement. Cement is considered one of the primary bonding materials that are used in concrete, and when water is added with all the concrete components, an interaction occurs between cement and water and concrete is composed of it.
2 - Water plays a vital role in the workability of concrete. Mixing concrete properly with fine and coarse sand or rubble as it is called, gives the required thickness for each concrete and also makes the concrete itself much stronger, and the manufacturer relies heavily on it mixed with sand. Water with sand makes it stronger.
3- Fine and coarse sand. Sand should not undergo any chemical change. It only provides mass volume for the concrete and reduces the effects of shrinkage.
4 - Additives to improve the properties of concrete. Additives are an optional material added during concrete mixing to enhance the properties and performance of concrete. There are 4 types of additives, namely, damping agents, trapped air additives, water reducing additives, and accelerating setting additives.
types of concrete
1 - Reinforced concrete (it was mentioned in a previous article).
2 - Ordinary cement concrete.
3 - Glass-reinforced concrete and so named because it is mixed with glass.
4 - Fiber reinforced concrete.
5- Concrete Ferrocement.
6- Ready-mix concrete.
7- Precast concrete.
8- Prestressed concrete.
9 - Concrete is light in weight and has some specific purposes and is not included in all industries and buildings.
10 - High Density Concrete.
11 - Polymeric concrete.
12 - High performance concrete.
13 - Self-compacting concrete.
14 - Concrete with air trapped.
15 - Extruded concrete.
16 - Dry extruded concrete.
17 - Compacted concrete.
18 - Executing concrete.
19 - Smart Concrete.
20 - lime concrete.
21 - Stamped concrete.
22 - Bacterial concrete.
23 - Asphalt concrete.
24 - Catalytic concrete.
Each type of concrete has its uses different from the others.
